I Didn't Lose 10 Pounds! (*&&^%#$

It
being Wednesday Allen and I went for lunch. I suggested a new
restaurant, The Painted Pickle, (though I have no idea what the name
means or comes from) a deli that advertises over stuffed sandwiches.
When we got there I saw right away that there wasn't table service and
there were only 4 small tables inside and two outside to eat at after
you ordered, paid and picked up your food. In summertime you, well at
least I, don't eat outside and, unless it is a buffet, I want to be
waited on.

We decided to try another new restaurant called Diner 24. I was skeptical because Fort Lauderdale has as many diners has it has banks, bars and Italian restaurants which are way too many of each!!

We
weren't seated two minutes when we looked up and there was Gino!! In
the 'it's a small world' department he and John had also came to Diner
24 so we joined them at their booth.

There
are a couple of things that made this diner different from others such
as it didn't have a humongous menu with mainly  Greek items and this
place had a newness, a freshness about it. The pictures don't show it
but the tables are raised high as are the booths and are comfortable.

John
had a BLT with fries and a chocolate chip milkshake while Gino had a
cheeseburger, Allen a Club sandwich with fries, a diet coke and a
chocolate chip milkshake while I had a turkey sandwich, a side of cole slaw, no fries and coffee. On Wednesdays their milkshakes are half price and you get the equivalent of 2 glasses. Eventually Gino also ordered a milkshake--
I, BEING A GOOD BOY, DIDN'T!!!

All
the sandwiches are served on whole wheat toast unless you ask for
something else. I really didn't read the menu carefully and thought I
was getting a turkey sandwich but it seemed like I had ordered a
Thanksgiving plate. The sandwich consisted of turkey, cranberry sauce, mayonnaise and
stuffing (!!!) on whole wheat toast. I added some of the cole slaw, took out some of the stuffing and I, being, a good boy, didn't have a mikshake!!!

All in all I was pleased with the diner and the food and will probably go back again.

There is NO justice in the world--I didn't have
a milkshake or fries, took some of the stuffing off the sandwich and
when I got home I ran to the scale and with all that sacrifice
I didn't lost ten pounds let alone an ounce!!! Life ain't fair!!!  LOL
