etc.,--almost two weeks ago. No one--neither the heart surgeon, his
staff or my primary doctor and his staff said anything about going for
a chest x-ray until I walked into the primary doctor's office today!!
Good thing I have Allen's car and can get around as there are only 10
working days until I check into hospital.

I
quickly rearranged my week and will go get it done on Wednesday--there
goes my trip to the Gold Corral--hey, you have your priorities and I
have mine! LOL
Among other things I found out is that I have a new primary doctor--the one I had moved to Louisiana
where his wife will be pursuing her degree in pharmacy and he is going
into the allergy field. So here I am going in for open heart surgery
and my new primary knows nothing about my medical history!! ARGHH!!
It
also seems that where and when and how long I go for rehab isn't
decided until after the operation and a social worker will come in and
discuss it with me--why it can't be arranged--at least the where--before I go in is beyond my understanding and I still haven't gotten a good explanation!!!
One
great thing happened this past weekend--Jill who has agreed to take
care of my birds thinks it would be easier if I bring them over to her
place--I agree as it will save her time running back and forth everyday (not to mention the gas it would use up!) She has, if I
remember, 6 birds of her own in 5 cages (?) and adding my six cages
will make her place a little crowded but I will certainly feel better
knowing my birds will have her birds and her for company. I'm going to
switch the tiels to a
smaller cage and as they are use to flying around 7-8 hours a day I
told her to clip their wings so they could at least be out of the cage
withoutcausing any damage. Not worried about the budgie, Cassidy,
not flying around and staying in cage as he is small and is constantly
moving around in his cage anyway--in fact when his cage door is open he
still spends 90% of the time in the cage.
Gino
will get in touch with her and they will decide for a time he can bring
his SUV here and we can load the cages and take them over to her place
instead of making a couple of trips.
Next Wednesday, the 16th, Allen, Jill, Emily, Gino and I will have lunch at Bennigan's and go over everything
regarding birds, apartment, stay in hospital, rehab and whatever else I
can prepare for. Plus, I probably will be having my last Cheeseburger with fries for awhile! :O)
Last, but not least, Dolores, who cleans
my apartment is mad at me for not telling her when I was going into the
hospital but I explained to her that I was planning to give her a key
to my place and she could come in whenever she wanted (for various
reasons we had originally decided on Tuesdays) as she could pick any
day that was convenient for her.
