Less than 5
minutes away from where I live is Holiday Park which was created as a
memorial for all World War 2 veterans and soon expanded into a cultural
and sports oasis in the middle of Fort Lauderdale. There is the War
Memorial Auditorium which hs concerts, computer, orchid, guns, antiques shows and holds such events
as the Gay Pride celebration. There are open door concerts in summer
along with soccer, football, baseball games all year round. There is a
large gymnasium and the Jimmy Evert (Chris's father) Tennis Center plus
one of the finest theatres anywhere, The Parker Playhouse, really a gem
without a bad seat in the 1500 well constructed building. This
afternoon I spent time just walking and driving around Holiday Park and
wanted to share the pictures with you starting at the entrance.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL WHO SERVED
