It is hard for me to believe but as of Friday I have
been blogging for 6 years!! Where does
the time go? I have recently saved some time by NOT copying and pasting my blog to 8
other blog sites. I only do that at two
sites now though I do continue posting my restaurant and movie reviews at
Viewpoints. I have, also, eliminated a few subscribers and making as many
comments as I use to plus I just pass over a few blogs that I use to read. In six
years I have made 2-3 enemies that I know of and innumerable friends.
For those of you who didn't watch the Screen Actors Guild Awards
last night you missed Betty White, who celebrated her 88th birthday
a week ago, receive a lifetime achievement award and gave one of the funniest,
somewhat raunchiest, acceptance speeches and when George ClooneyClooney is so liked by everyone in
the business and has a huge fan base. stepped up to give out an award he had a very funny comeback to her speech. You
missed some sparkling dialogue that shows why Betty White has survived over 60
years of show business and why George
About every 6-8 weeks I cook up a mix of veggies for
the birds and stock them up in the freezer. Today I made a mixture of brown
rice, peas, black eye peas, bird pellets and seed, chopped up hard boiled eggs,
millet spray seeds and corn so I am set for awhile.
Talking about food--who, me?--I bought a whole
picnic ham that I plan to roast tomorrow and have enough for a couple of dinners plus a few lunch sandwiches. And talking about
tomorrow I have my last doctor specialist's appointment until July. This
month I went to the heart doctor, pulmonary doctor, not to forget the nose, ear
and throat specialist, the podiatrist and tomorrow the dermatologist. The only
doctor I see between January & July is my primary and then after July it is
doctor free until January again. The only one I haven't seen this month is the
vascular surgeon and he said he only wants/needs to see me once a year. I am
having trouble with my legs so I hope whatever is wrong holds off. Meanwhile all
the doctors have given me a thumbs up which at 74 is definitely a good
sign!!
With Bennigan's closed I am still on the search for
a good cheesebuger and I have eliminated Denny's this past Wednesday and Smokey
Bones offered a good one but not quite there. Already had a few in different
places that were just okay so my search goes on. Oh what I do for research!
LOL
The weatherman was a little off with his predictions
this weekend. It was warm but very damp and on the verge of rain which didn't
come but the pool and The Point was as serene as ever.
By the way we have lost our administrator and I
heard the second in command is going on maternity leave next month so things
might be a little unsettled here but we did get a new pastor--a youngish
guy--hey, come on he is 39 and that is young here LOL--he is from West Virginia
via New Orleans--he will have a hard time winning the old folks over but I hope
they give him a chance.
