In
1987 a ‘small’ low budget film called “Dirty Dancing” opened and took
the country by storm. Overnight Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey became
stars; the song “(I’ve Had) The Time of my Life” won an Oscar, Golden
Globe and Grammy and ‘the lift’ in the finale dance scene has not only
become an iconic moment in movies but just check out YouTube for the
millions of couples who try to duplicate it today at their weddings!!
Now
“Dirty Dancing—The Classic Story on Stage” will be at the Broward
Center for the Performing Arts on April 12 to April 24 and then will be
brought to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami November 29th to December 4th .
We
will return to the summer of 1963 when 17 year old Frances ‘Baby’
Houseman, on vacation with her older sister and parents, meets ‘bad boy’
looking Johnny Castle and her life is about to change forever.
Here is the original scene from the movie followed by a clip from YouTube of the Germany touring company

Look for my review, if I am not too busy to write it doing Johnny’s dance moves all over town, after I go to the opening WEDNESDAY EVENING.
