down to the 50s tomorrow and we might have a high of 74 so we had to
get going while the going was good---hey, it's going to be cold!!! LOL
John
came by around 12:30 to pick me up and we went to meet Gino at Tropics
for lunch. I wasn't aware Tropics had a 'lunch club'--you buy 9
lunches (which only will cost about $99 including tax and tip but then would be buying the lunches there anyway!!LOL) and get the 10th free.
Actually
lunch at Tropics is a good deal--you get a main course which also
includes the salad bar and the latter is impressive with lox, seafood salad, boiled shrimp, ham, cheese, turkey, 2 soups, bagels, 1/2 dozen desserts plus all
kinds of salad makings and dressings. Most people overeat from the
salad bar and take their main course home for dinner that evening!!!
:O)
Tropics also has specials during the week like 'buy 1 get 1 free', prime rib dinner for $10.50 on Tuesaday evenings and so on.
In any case we all had the club sandwich:
plus a large plate of the salad bar;
and I think I was the only one who had dessert!!!
Chocolate cake, good carrot cake, pound cake, flan.
After
that we went to Target where John looked at rugs and I bought a bed
seat hoping that will help me read in bed at night. After that we went
to Home Depot where I bought a plant for myself--a Penta
and as a small house gift I bought John a begonia for his backyard.
Before
hitting the stores we went to John's place as he wanted me to take a
few pictures in his new townhouse of certain items like the enclosed
covering on one of his chairs which isn't/wasn't his idea. :O)
I
got home about 4, let the birds out of their cages and at 5 went to the
breezeway for the evening get together with some of the Gateway
residents.
Staying in this evening as I
have an appointment with the dermatologist tomorrow and might meet
Allen at Cheddar's for a late lunch. Then I plan to take the bed seat
back to Target as it isn't what I needed and wanted. The back isn't
high enough even if I put it on pillows..
And
you think retired people have it easy and don't have things to
do--think again, folks, once you retire you meet yourself coming and
going--no rest for the weary! LOL
