"No Hard Feelings"--movie Review

Jennifer Lawrence is one of many actresses that never gives a bad performance even in a poorly written and/or directed movie; in this movie, she shines. We all know she can handle deep drama and she has hinted at a fun side of her and she does comedy like Born to the Manor in this raunchy, R Rated, what will be a classic, all-out comedy!

In “No Hard Feelings,” Jennifer Lawrence plays a 32-year-old Uber driver in the Hamptons whose car has been repossessed because she failed to pay her property taxes. She answers a Craigslist ad posted by a wealthy couple (Laura Benanti and Matthew Broderick), offering a car in return for a woman to date their socially awkward 19-year-old son (Andrew Barth Feldman) to prepare him for college life.

The movie is a raunchy R-rated comedy that sees Lawrence’s character, Maddie, fully naked and running on a beach.

“Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’” Lawrence said while promoting the film alongside Feldman. “I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me. The sequence – which I won’t spoil by describing in detail – took about a day to shoot following “a lot of rehearsal,” Lawrence said.

I don't know if she gave birth before or after making this movie but she looks fantastic and got quite a loud reaction from the small audience watching the film. For a couple of years she was one of the highest-paid actresses and there is no doubt she will be again!
Andrew Barth Feldman delivers the nerdy, lonely, married to his phone, 19-year-old uncomfortable kid completely puzzled by this woman who seems to take over his life as an excellent second banana to Lawrence getting in a few good laughs on his own with a few scenes opposite her.

There are a few, unnecessary lines/ shots that make the movie a bit slower than it should be and the slapstick is toned down for the second half of the movie for the sweeter scenes and though the comedy is seldom laugh out loud funny you will find yourself with a smile on your face than you expected.

Do yourself a favor and go out and see "No Hard Feelings" in a movie theatre this week before teenagers hear about it and fill the movie houses now that school is out!
