Good News--bad News--other News

I went to see my pulmonary doctor and after
switching my 'emergency' inhaler--he felt that Xopenex would react adversely with
the Advair due to my arterial defibrillation--to Atrovent he
said, "See you next year. We will send you a card to remind you." I like doctors
like that. I did tell him of all the specialists I see he is the
best, takes his time with the patient, answers all questions and (even if he
makes notes) he remembers things about patients like my having birds!!

The bad news is what I am facing tomorrow though I
don't yet know it will be bad news. I am going to see my vascular surgeon
about the operations on my legs--a stent in one and angioplasty in the
other to rectify the P.A.D. in my legs--which was going to be done last year
until it was decided that I needed the aorta valve replacement. I am not afraid
of the operation itself as I did have it done to my left leg in 2000 and it--as both my ears and throat
were affected the time I was put under for the aorta operation. I have, also,
learned, that many people have strokes while under it. I do believe it can be done under a 'local' though I really
don't understand what that means. I am really going to question him about all
the pros and cons regarding the operation and the methods and what happens if I
don't have it done.
was just
an overnight stay in the hospital. What is worrying me this time is the 'going
under'--the anesthesia

On to other news--I am
surprised there has been so little reaction to the announcement that people on
social security won't be getting a
raise in the coming year. All I can think is that the old folks haven't heard
about it. It is out of Obama's hands
but you can bet he will be taking a lot of flack!

I have a lot of fun seeing
startled looks on people's faces when I am in line at the supermarket or 7/11,
or wherever, when I tell whoever is behind me, "Go ahead, I have plenty of
time,"--their faces are taken completely surprised. Oh, I don't do it all the
time, just if I feel the person behind me is on their lunch hour at 7/11 or just
has a couple of items on line at the supermarket--let's face it, I am in no
hurry being retired, I don't have to be anywhere right away!  LOL

Okay, today, this evening, right now, all is well
with the world--we will think about tomorrow when tomorrow comes, right
Scarlet???
