recorder/player and instead bought just a DVD/VHS player. Here is the
kicker, folks--I CONNECTED IT UP TO THE TV ALL BY MYSELF AND IT WORKS!!! Now
this may not seem like a big deal to you but it is/was a major
accomplishment for me as I will show you in a minute and kept me
smiling all day today.

Today was just a nice easy going day. I had the use of Norman's car and at a leisurely pace I went to the Dollar Tree on the 17th Street causeway, did some food shopping at Publix and Winn-Dixie and then got my semi annual crew cut. Spent time on the breezeway with Dot, Caroline, Linda and John, stopped at Larry's but he was taking a
nap and then came upstairs to enjoy some of the treats I bought myself.
Sometime
in my late twenties (the same period as when the pictures were taken) I
went to NYU to take a series of vocational exams as I wasn't sure of
exactly what I wanted to do work wise with my life. There were a series
of over 22 different tests and the results pointed to my being a real
estate salesman, go into advertising, be a musician (performer)--the
fact that I couldn't/didn't play an instrument struck me as funny--a
lawyer or an author/journalist.
What I already knew and the exams verified was the 0 I got in mechanics--see the 8th item from the bottom--now maybe you
will understand the joy I get when I can connect a DVD/VHS player to a
TV!
By the way, in case you
didn't/don't know it, I didn't become a lawyer, real estate salesman,
go into advertising or become a musician but, as a second vocation, I
did become, was, am a writer!
