16th Leap Year Birthday February 29, 2000

It is not often you are ‘sweet 16’ so I celebrated it properly! How about lunch at The Cheesecake Factory at the Sawgrass Mall (I only had 2 slices of cheesecake) and then in the evening partaking of The Captain’s Table at The Ark Restaurant (now closed!)
Nancy, Doug, Betsy and Bob had come from Michigan while Byron and Paul flew in from Oklahoma for the week.
For some reason--no, not because of the money--the gift balloon that Elaine, Dorothy, Ethel and Jaimee gave me still intrigues (how did they get the money in there?) me and I always smile when I see the picture and I see it every day as it is part of the collage hanging on my wall! Another present I got was from Chuck who sent me a complete BBQ dinner from Corky’s in Memphis and I haven’t tasted good barbecue since!
