I
have always likes plants, flowers and bushes and even when I didn't
have the room I would find someway to have a few plants in my
apartments even if it was one or two hanging plants.

I
have recently got into a new habit. Thursdays are my food shopping
days, generally going to the Dollar Tree store, Winn-Dixie and Publix and, lately I have added the Home depot, where each week I buy a new plant when they are on 'special'. Due to the holidays poinsettias
are now on sale for $3.99 and I have bought one each Thursday of the
past 4 weeks, 2 red, 1 pink and 1 greenish white. Two weeks ago I
bought a Christmas cactus and last week a milkweed plant.

Adding
to the collection this Thursday I bought a Butterfly weed and a Mona
lavendar plectranthus putting them outside on the walkway in the corner
by my apartment door.

   
                
In
the spirit of the holiday I have also been buying a few decorating
bells and balls for the outside plants. Along with the 3 African
violets I have on the extended window sill that John built I have 6
other plants and on the outside a total of 18 plants so we are talking
a total of 27 plants which means a little more work than I expected but
just seeing them every day waking up, coming home, anytime I want to
see the wonders of Mother Nature I know the extra work is worth it.
