Friends with Kids--movie Review

Where are Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd when you need them and "Friends With Kids" need them.
Wait! Their pictures haven't been doing too good lately. What has
happened to romantic comedies the past few years as they are neither
romantic or funny?

Remember back
when romance didn't mean talking about the size of penises or the shape
of a woman's vagina? Do you recall when a comedy with a baby didn't have
a scene with poop all over the walls? "Friends With Kids" has all that
also bitter married couples with children and two single friends who, as
the leads in this film, have no chemistry.

Jennifer Westfeldt stars, directs and writes the screenplay for this movie and doesn't
deliver in any of the categories. Adam Scott, as her best friend from
college days, is not  a strong leading man, a funny man with Westfeldt's lines, sexy enough to get women left and right or romantic enough to
believe the ending even though you know from the opening scene what that
will be. Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Megan Fox and Chris O'Dowd are weak in weak roles while Jon Hamm and Edward Burns bring more to their roles than the script provides.

"Kids With Friends" is no more than combined, extended episodes of "Friends", "Seinfeld" and, yes, "Saturday Night Live" that runs for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
