Being a creature of habit--of which I am--I pick certain restaurants for certain foods and, most times when I deviate I am sorry afterward. For instance, when I want a cheese omelet with a side of pancakes I head directly for IHOP and this past week instead I had a Fajita Omelet--WRONG! Save the Fajitas for Sunrise Tequila or Jalisco Mexican restaurants!
If I want pizza it is straight to Big Louie's where I worked for 3 years and have been eating at for, at least, 33 years if not longer. There I can order almost anything---like I did the chicken parmigiana last week and didn't regret it at all! With the ziti and garlic rolls for $10.99 it was a perfect lunch!
Usually, when I want a cheeseburger it is either to The Quarter Deck or Outback restaurant or the former when I want an outstanding Jambalaya but we went to Gilbert's Grill on 17th street where they are known for their burgers and I didn't order one, instead getting a dish of chicken wings and---SURPRISE!--they were excellent!
The one thing I have failed to find is a good Chinese restaurant or one that I wanted to go to but recently one I used to go to has moved closer and we decided to give it a try and Lotus was excellent so no problem with going back there and ordering their seafood lo mein!
Without getting into it Arby's shouldn't call it a Rueban but I really like their corned beef sandwich--no, not a New York one but tasty anyway! Along with those it is Subways for a turkey sandwich, Cafe Vico for upscale Italian food, the 2 Mexican restaurants mentioned before, Catfish Dewey's----are you ready?--for all the beef ribs you can eat on Wednesday evenings, 15th Street Fisheries for seafood, the Cheesecake Factory, yes, for cheesecake and a variety of lunch items.
All those are just the tip of the iceberg but under the prize of where I will hold my 22nd Leap Year Birthday party I will continue my search for a must not miss restaurant--on where oh where is The Ark that had the best prime ribs before they went out of business AFTER my Leap Year birthday dinner there?!?!?
