Eat Pray Love---a Movie Review

Julia Roberts is beautiful to look at and she has a dazzling smile that lights up the
screen and just makes you feel good. More important she has an honesty
about her that even when she is acting you think you know her. Julia
makes you feel comfortable and has you feeling that you are her friend
and that she is just one of the gang.

Julia plays Liz Gilbert who, as the film opens, is divorcing Stephen, Billy Crudup,
and, feeling she has lost her self, goes on a journey of self
discovery. After a rebound romance with David, James Franco, Liz leaves
Manhattan. Following the title Liz does her eating in Italy, her praying
in India and her loving in Bali with Javiar Bardem as Felipe.

CRUDUP                               FRANCO                       BARDEM

While everyone does an excellent job, including Viola Davis playing her best friend, and Barden exudes that sexiness that makes him better looking than he really is,
it is Richard Jenkins who almost steals the picture from Julia. As
Richard from Texas he has a riveting monologue telling what brought him
to the ashram, where Liz is, bringing a seriousness to the film that is
very affecting.

"Eat
Pray  Love" is a travelogue for each of the countries, provides many
exquisite shots of food, offers a leisurely glossy showcase of directing
and production values but most of all it is a tribute to Julia Roberts,
a STAR, an ACTRESS and, possibly, a friend who is in every scene of the
movie.

PS There may be a star in the making who has a cameo , but memorable, scene at a beach but I didn't catch his name. When you see the movie get his film name and I'll look up his real name! LOL
