(Just as I started to type this Cathy, my neighbor on the second floor, knocked on my door with a plate of Eggplant Parmagania in her hand for me!)

As much as I love eating out with restaurant prices higher (and smaller portions) I am lucky if I can eat out 2-3 times a week and one is usually an Arby's, Subway, etc., type of place and even that runs $10+ (with a coupon) for lunch so I am lucky to have neighbors that like to cook AND share!

Walter prides himself on his baking and last week it was Red Devil food cake and it was good.

The aforementioned Cathy is always cooking, and sharing, various Italian dishes usually with a pasta base and she is a good cook.

Mike, last week, knocked on my door and said he had made one too many of his cheese snacks--2 slices of sharp cheese and a half cup of milder shredded cheese melted on whatever bread he has handy and put in the microwave for a minute.

As I've written about before I prepare 5 complete dinner plates with a tossed salad on Saturday for the week and this past week it was a pasta and vegetable mix topped with chicken or fish. I fill in other meals with 'specials' I get at Winn-Dixie like this evening I had a rack of ribs I got for $2+.

This week might be different as Allen went away and I have his car so I might 'treat' myself a few more restaurant meals plus it is Cathy's birthday so I might take her out for dinner.
