PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FLIP-FLOPS, SHIRT AND SHORTS JUST HAPPEN TO MATCH THE BRACE AND WHEELCHAIR!
It all started Tuesday, May 26, 2015 when I fell because I wasn’t looking where I was going and broke my knee in 3 places. Surprisingly it didn’t hurt and I even went to the movies! It was about 6 PM that night that I started to feel pain and couldn’t walk on it so I immediately called 911--a thing I wouldn’t have done a few years ago but I have learned better in my old age. I had the brace put on my leg and was told by the Orthopedic doctor to come see him that Monday, June 1, when he took another X-ray and that I would see him in 6 weeks after looking at it, and was sent home.
Had problems getting a wheel chair and the brace was not the happiest of all accompaniments but I didn’t learn the ’tricks’ to make it easier until 2 days ago!! I wore it 24/7 except when I took a shower and many things are hard to do with your leg in a brace sticking straight out.
The 6 weeks went by a lot faster than I thought it would but as you get old the time goes faster--yes it does! Yesterday I went back to the doctor and he said no more brace and/or wheelchair but I would have to take physical therapy which with all I went through yesterday making calls it might take 6 weeks!
In any case after the news Allen and I went to a new restaurant we passed by called La Parrilla Rotisserie & Grill--will post about that on another day.
Now I just have to learn to look where I am going and slow down when I am walking!
