Saturday, October 3 at 9 p.m.
In this comedy of errors musical, Jerry Travers (Fred Astaire), who works for producer Horace Hardwick (Edward Everett Horton), avidly practices his dance routines. One night Travers disturbs wealthy Dale Tremont (Ginger Rogers) with his dancing and falls in love with her when she confronts him about the noise. Dale assumes that Travers is the husband of her friend Madge--who's actually the wife of Jerry's producer. Complicating matters is Dale's jealous suitor Beddini. Beddini is disposed of by some last-minute chicanery on the part of Jerry's faithful valet Bates, paving the way for the happy ending everyone knew was coming from the opening scene. Fun Fact: During "Cheek to Cheek," Ginger Rogers' gown shed its feathers, exasperating Fred Astaire and causing delays in order to sew the feathers down. Rogers earned the nickname "Feathers" from Astaire as a result.
