This afternoon I received
a delivery from FedEX. It contained
the self test user's guide plus a DVD and all the material and equipment needed
for the INRatio Prothrombin Time testing. Let the M.D.
explain that in layman's terms. I will be testing myself for my blood level
regarding the blood thinner Warfarin that I have been taking for over 9 years. Usually I have to go to the doctor's
office 1-2 times a month to have my blood taken and then, if needed, adjust the
dosage and now I can do it at home, phone in the results, they in turn relay it
to the doctor and if an adjustment has to be made he will call me..

you know I have been trying to get the shingles vaccine and 1) haven't been
having luck and 2) have been getting the run around. I got a call from my
primary doctor's receptionist and she said it came down to me paying the $200 up
front and the insurance company compensating me 100% after I get the shot. Well,
I don't have the $200 so I guess I
won't be getting the shot which I basically wanted as preventative medicine. The
way things were going the stress of trying to get the vaccine would have given
me a case of shingles!!!

It didn't rain in our
neighborhood yesterday, or today, so I was able to get to the swimming pool and
relax for awhile. Hey, when you are retired you have to find time to relax!!
Leaving the pool and walking back to my building I took the following pictures,
including Larry's new pot of roses!! LOL
