blessed and lucky I am in my senior years. I went from being homeless
10 years ago to having a roof over my head, food in my stomach and
neighbors who bake me cakes!!! Yes, I lack some 'luxeries' like a car,
Internet speed dialing, money to go to the theatre but I have something
better than that--FRIENDS!!! Yes, I had an aorta valve replacement
operation and an episode of congestive heart failure plus I have
C.O.P.D. and P.A.D. but I have all my mental faculties (though some think otherwise! LOL) and I am independent and I have my FRIENDS!
I always look forward to Wednesday because Allen and I spend the
afternoon together as we did today. We didn't do anything exciting or
newsworthy but we spent time together in each others company. (Just
for the record, because some have asked--no, we are not and never have
been lovers--and no we don't have sex!)
Today started even before
Allen got here by my getting a call from one of my favorite blogging buddies from overseas and 4 personal e-mails from 'fellow' bloggers who
told me how much they appreciate me.
I told you about the parking ticket I got last week and my trip to the
place to pay it and was told I didn't have
all the information needed.
Today we went there, I handed over all the papers and Mary, behind the
window, said if I don't hear from them by next Friday it means it has
been dismissed. Smiling, I told her that as much as I liked her I hope
I never hear from or see her again. I must say everyone I came into
contact with regarding this ticket have really been great and both
times I went to the office I was in and out within 5 minutes. I plan to
send a letter to the office manager complimenting her department. Hey,
it only takes a minute and I have found that people are quick to
complain but not to compliment.
Next
we went for lunch at Tasty Thai where we have been before and I have
2-4-1 coupons. Of course Thai food leaves a taste in your mouth so we
had to go to Dairy Queen where I had a buy 1 get the second one for 99
cents coupon and we both had a Blizzard
Next we stopped at Target, which I much prefer to Walmart which I never go into, as I was looking for a small dish drying rack
for my counter but they didn't have the small one I wanted so I will
look at the Dollar Tree store tomorrow to see if they have one.
(Thinking of you, Tim while I am their LOL!)
Then
it was off to 7/11 to get the winning Power Ball and Lotto tickets and
gas--WOW! It has gone up almost 30 cents a gallon in 1-2 weeks!!--and
then Allen drove me home.
The
weather, though more hot and humid than it should be in the last week
of October, was saved by a delightful breeze. Yes, not a spectacular
day, just a usual Wednesday, but who could ask for anything more?? I
didn't but I got a present from a blogger I hardly know but who does know I love to read books and sent me one I
was talking about. What could top this? Oh maybe winning that Power
Ball so I could open that animal sanctuary, right Maria? And, oh yes,
get Ecky and Aussie girl deflowered--no, not what you are thinking of folks--get your mind out of the gutter! LOL
And
what do I have to look forward to tomorrow? Another rich, fullfiled
day--grocery shopping where I look and want more than I buy but what
fun to people watch and see who have neat baskets (watch it, AJ!)
and, ladies, sorry, but more men stack their groceries up neatly than
women and more fat people buy trans fat foods than thin people!
I have a great life folks and I wish you the same!
