This is sort of a "What would you do?" sort
of topic. As most of you know I go food shopping on Thursdays with a
stop at The Dollar Tree. I will usually ask the breezeway group if they
want anything and every once in awhile someone will say "Toothpaste" or
"Laundry detergent" and I have no problem getting the item. Most will
pay me when I bring the items to the breezeway meeting that evening but
every now and then one of the women insist that I take the extra dollar
or two that she puts in my hand. I will refuse it but she insists that I
take it and if I tell her that I won't get her anything anymore she
smiles and puts the money in my pocket.
A dollar or two isn't much but when you live
in subsidized housing and the only income you have is your Social
Security you really can't afford to throw away a dollar here and a
dollar there. I am going there anyway so it isn't a question of extra
time or gas or wear and tear on the car. How would you handle it?

Sad, bad news. Due to health problems, after
13 years of having them, Jill has to give her birds up. I really would
love to keep them but as it is I am having eye problems which my doctor
thinks is being caused by the birds I already have. They really are good
birds, not any trouble at all, and I have sort of 'fallen in love' with
Andi. Meanwhile I am e-mailing all my friends in the area plus I will
talk to Babs about possibly putting a notice in our paper next month. I
have had an inquiry already from a bird person which would be good.

On the left are some seeds I planted two
weeks ago and on the right is the growth since. Hopefully with the rain
and sun we are having there should be flowers soon. I did make a mistake
though by not marking what I planted in which box and I know there are
herbs somewhere in there!!!

I had a few other things on my mind I wanted
to talk about, while rant about one of them, including cellphones and
someones remark about it being a 'generational thing'--BULL!! More about
that tomorrow.
