Say
hello to Lucky, one of the smartest dogs I have ever met. he lives with
Jerry who has taught him to do amazing things. As an example he will
ring for the elevator and then push the button for the floor you want to
get off. he will get the mail and deliver it to Jerry and if you want
to go into the office he will not only push the handicap button but when
the door opens he will put down the door jamb to keep it open! And he
will do anything for a snack!
It
is 6 years since I have had a car and recently I have been thinking of
getting one as I am sort of trapped here on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and
Tuesday and can't just take off if I want. I can use TOPS, a local
service provided by the transit company, but you have to book a ride 24
hours in advance. I sat down yesterday and figured if I gave up buying
lotto tickets, stop going out to eat and didn't go to the movies I might
be able to buy a car and possibly get insurance. I also figured out
that with insurance, paying for registration, license plates, gas and,
since it will be a used car, possibly repairs I may have a car but I
wouldn't be able to go anywhere or do anything!!! So all I can do is
hope to win the lottery or someone will give me a car AND pay the
insurance for a year!!!
Time goes by so quickly! Was it only 43
years ago that I had my first what was then called a Weight Watchers
milkshake? Has it really been 20 years since I have had one? Allen has a
sweet tooth and has decided to lose weight so I made him one. Depending
on how many ice cubes you use--I use 12--it makes 2 ten ounce glasses
is filling, a total of only 80 calories, (depending on what kind of milk
you use) and just by changing the extract have any flavor you
want---surprise! I prefer chocolate. LOL
Put
in a blender a teaspoon of preferred extract, 8 ounces of powdered milk
(or non-fat or 1% milk) and water, sugar substitute to taste, blend
and, as you do, add ice cubes--when smooth serve, drink and enjoy!
Just
as a PS--I am watching the televised version of "South Pacific" from
Lincoln Center in New York and as many times as I have seen it I am
bawling like a baby. The first act just ended and tears you apart and I can't wait until I hear Lt. Cable sing "You Have To Be Taught" which I always hope every person who discriminates would listen to the words. Also looking forward to being torn apart by "This Nearly Was Mine"--what a score! Okay, on to act 2.
