Notes from the School House.

This is me in Lucca.I saw this Merry Go Round and told Mike I want to do this.Take a ride as this brought back many memories of my youth.
The horse sadly was plastic I guess and nothing like the real wooden horse in my earlier day.
They were a few children on this and smiling or laughing or watching me.
But how can you not give them a big smile back.
All right, getting away from the subject.
Up at five.Getting my eyes prepared.
Eye drops and hot compressed with lightly cleaning the eye lash back and forth.
A light breakfast.Toast and jam only no butter and dairy
product.
Pack my small bag to carry all of my eye drops and dark glasses.
Mike says:nervous?nope.
Have positive out look and very relaxed and I was.
Arrived at the hospital after six.
Had to sign some papers.
Then at six thirty to get prepared for my eye surgery.
All of the nurses and health workers were excellent.
They did a fine job, putting up with me.LOL
Then put the heart monitor on,blood pressure etc.
Lots of eye drops and IV.
Seven o'clock comes and ask the nurse how long will this be.You will be out of here at eight thirty.
Ask her to tell Mike that he does not have to hang around and get me later as she did.
Then the OR nurse came in and explaining to me what is going on and as they wheeled me in the OR room.
Gave me a light anthesia and cleaning my eye several times.
Finally the doctor came in and start working on it.
You can see the light as she is moving around.
Next thing that I was all done.
Wow!this is amazing.Did not feel a thing.
I was told in the earlier days when people had this done they had to stay in the hospital for a few days and had to be fed.Wow!guess this was the dark ages for them.LOL.
They fed me.A cup of coffee and blueberry muffins.
Did not expect this. But did eat it up.
Mike joined me as he listened to the instructions what has to be done, while at home.
Yep,more eye drops three types of it and three times a day.
Also gave me dark glassess.Well not sure if they gave me or probably charge medicare.
As of now I am really pleased with the progress.

Isn't this amazing One of the floors in a building.
I loved the 3 D effect on this.

Will see what happened.
Tomorrow,go for my follow up.
Talk to you later.

I am pleased that modern surgery for cataracts is so far advanced that one doesn't have to wear glasses that magnify your eyes as my relatives had to do when I was a kid. I have had the surgery and am pleased with the results. Glad you can see well.

I do see well, but need reading glasses at times.Depending on the light and typeface. The closed up has not help too much.
They did offers a enchanced lens for the tune of 800 each.
But,no garateen. So passed on this.I do not mind wearing them at times that I need them.Sorry, about the misspelled word.Where is my spell check.

Yes, it is an easy surgery. I still have to wear glasses for reading but
now I can see far away. After being near sighted all my life, it is a
blessing.

Cataracts? I'm getting there. Now I know what to expect. The world will look different from now on. I only wish it was different, like no more war.

you got the wrong comments.
Yes,I am doing well and surprised. Not sure what to expect.
In the older days, they used to keep you in the hospital for a couple of days and had to feed you.Hmmmmmmone of my friend who is a nurse was telling me about this.Hard to believe. With today technology things works fast.

Oh you stars with your dark glasses coming out of rehab--you can't hide!
You'll be out and about in a day or two playing tennis

I love the tile pattern. I could get lost just staring at it!
That was such a pretty merry-go-round. What a shame that the horses were platic, though. I remember riding the wooden ones at a local amusement part when I was young. They wer nice!
I hope you have a speedy recovery. All of the folks I know who have had the surgery have had a quick and easy one.
Say hi to Mike for Ray and I!
comment by lunarhunk on June 1, 2011 8:12 AM ()
yes,it is shame on the horses. The pattern was weird.
I hope that a recovery is fast.Cannot stand being idle.
Best to you and Ray.Wait!Belle and Jolie
