Flu Vaccine
Hi,Everyone.
Yesterday Mike and I got our annual flu shot that we have been over the years.
I for one never or we have never had any problems with it so far.
So,tonight while reading the newspaper, came across this letter to the editor.
Pretty weird to me to read this.
I am sure they will be lot of feedback on this.
Not sure what GBS is.
So here is the letter that was written.
This is our second day of the shot.
Waiting to see or no not waiting to see what happens.
Some people who get the flu vaccine could get more than just flu protection. A person could get Guillain Barre Syndrome. They don't tell you that.
Our daughter received the flu shot, and a couple days later she developed GBS. It is potentially deadly or crippling. She lost all feeling in her legs at the time. Then got worse as it attacked her nerves, slowly rising from her feet to her chest. As it goes up, it kills the nerves and complicates all autonomic systems, blood pressure, even going the bathroom. She had to be cathoded for a long time. She also never regained her ability to walk.
So think of this before you decide to get a flu shot. You may get more than you want.

Guillain-Barre (ghee-YA-buh-RAY) syndrome is a disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms. These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body. In its most severe form, Guillain-Barre syndrome is a medical emergency requiring hospitalization.
The exact cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown, but it is often preceded by an infectious illness such as a respiratory infection or the stomach flu. Luckily, Guillain-Barre syndrome is uncommon, affecting only 1 or 2 people per 100,000.
There's no known cure for Guillain-Barre syndrome, but several treatments can ease symptoms and reduce the duration of the illness. Most people recover from Guillain-Barre syndrome, though some may experience lingering effects from it, such as weakness, numbness or fatigue.
One of my Aunties had an allergic reaction that triggered this disease. She never got better, either. They said lots of times people get it from allergic reactions. One more thing to worry about.
