As
typically happens here in Delaware, we have gone right from cool,
rainy, nasty weather right to summer. The high today will be 92.
*GROAN* The good thing is I am off tomorrow and the weather will be the
same. Time to start tanning!
Yesterday
on my break one of the assistant managers was also on break. She was
saying how she was in charge of hiring 40 employees by May 1st. She
said weeding out the applications was the hardest part. I told her my
daughter in law had put in an application over a month ago. So she said
she would pull her app and call her. Stormy has an interview on Monday
for cashier! Later in the day my CSM came over and told me to turn my
light off and call Terry, the asst. mgr. She had also found my son's
app and asked if he was a hard worker. I told her absolutely, and that
he had just gotten out of the army. He has an interview on Tuesday!
Terry said pretty soon she would have my whole family working there.
LOL The kids are excited about it and so am I! It will be nice to have
people I know and love working with me. And with Stormy being a cashier
also, we can have some fun with people! *evillaugh*
Yesterday
was not the typical Saturday at the store. I think everyone went to the
beach! It was nice for a change to not be crazy busy on a Saturday. I
hope today is the same. I had a customer at the end of my shift
yesterday buying all kinds of goodies. I helped her load her groceries
in her cart and told her I was coming home with her to help her eat the
banana cream pie. Well we joked and kidded for the remainder of the
time. As she was leaving she said she would look for me from now on
when she came in. That is why I love being a cashier. The getting to
know people and joke with them. I had one little boy, age 5, telling me
his whole day. How he had T ball practice and it is his Dad's birthday.
Turned out he the grandson of another cashier. I told her I just loved
talking to him. And the whole time he was getting the bags off the
carousel and putting them in the cart. I complimentedhim on being a
hard worker and helping his mom.
My
buddy Josh was working, he was about 2 registers down from me. He
hollers over all day, MARY!!!! Just to hear me yell back, WHAT?? Then
he would wink at me. I love working with him. He is such a character.
At one point I was cleaning up the hangers under my register and Josh
yelled over, Are you hiding??? I almost could not stand up for laughing
so hard.
I am hoping my son gets up soon so I can ask if I can take the jeep to work! I am itching to drive it with the top off!
I
went to bed at 8 last night and I slept so good. I had the windows open
and a nice breeze was coming in. I am beginning to believe the landlord
when he said we would't need an air conditioner. He said they never had
one the whole time they lived here. With all the windows we get a nice
cross breeze through here.
