Big Snowstorm Here

I didn't believe the weather reports yesterday that we would be slammed with snow. First of all, we never get measureable snow in December! But I awoke to a beautiful blanket of snow! Right now we have about 8 inches and it's still coming. My camera is not working however. That totally sucks! Kota was up early, got dressed properly for cold weather and went out and filled a bucket with snow. The bucket sits in my mud room as he refills his cup with snow. LOL He isn't allowed to really go out and play, he is sick. Double pink eye and some kind of virus. I have stayed home with him the past two days, screw walmart, and I have this weekend off! All the things you here about walmart and they treat their employees is true. And frankly I don't care, my family comes first. Kota was very sick since Tuesday and I will not send him to a babysitter so I can get to work. I am a mom first! They won't fire me. They will 'coach' me and tell me I cannot miss any days until such and such a date. Whatever. It's walmart.
In other news... We did venture out yesterday to the babysitter's house. They are my second family. A little background. John was the tae kwon do instructor at my club and I knew him and his brother Jacob first. Then I was slowly indoctrinated to the whole family. The mom works with me at walmart, we worked together in the jewelry department. Anyway, Katie is Kota's after school babysitter. Katie baked us cookies for Christmas. Me and Kota hung out there yesterday afternoon while she finished baking our cookies. I think me and hubby got a sack of about 60 cookies and Kota got his own sack of about 40! At one point the dad came home and I yelled out, welcome home Steve! He just laughs at me, I fit right in with his crazy family. It was a lovely afternoon of just talking with my favorite people. We talked about everything from shoulder injuries to vampires/werewolves and the nutritional value of pig's blood to vampires. LOL
Hubby had to work a half day today. Propane customers probably want to make sure they have enough gas for this snowstorm. When I called to check on him he was sitting in the office having coffee. Good for him! I would much rather he be sitting in the office than hitting the roads here. They of course are not properly plowed. Delaware sucks when it comes to snow removal. I am sure walmart is busy today. They wouldn't want to close the store and miss out on any almighty dollars, so let the employees risk their lives to get to work.
Have a great weekend and enjoy family and friends, forget the presents. Tell someone you love them and appreciate them.
