I have always wanted to put a sign on our highway saying that! We get tourists from all over coming to our beaches in summer. This weekend was the unofficial start of summer and here came the tourists. It was a crazy weekend at work, except for yesterday. Yesterday it was dead in the store! I guess everyone was going home early due to weather reports. When I left my house at 2 in the afternoon I hit the parking lot that is normally our highway through town. A 5 minute drive turned into 20 and only because I took a detour off the highway!
Even though it was quiet in the store I had some big sales last night, all showcase items. That was pretty cool. Although I did get some strange questions. 'Are those real diamonds?' I wanted to say no they aren't, we just lock them up in the showcase to fool people. I had to chase one guy down because he left his cell phone on my counter. Besides he was cute, I couldn't let him be phoneless!
I was given 3 days in a row off this week. Today being the first of the three. I think they feel bad giving me nights mostly. I don't mind it so much, except for all the cleaning I have to do! I am able to check my paystub online and this check is going to be sweet! It's my first one with my pay raise and working 40 hours each week. I have already told hubby, after paying bills I am treating myself to some new clothes! and books! I need books!
My jewelry co-workers have a good time picking on me and making me do silly things when it isn't busy. One day they were picking out sunglasses for me to try on. Their favorite pair were this red, mirror like glasses. We also talk about our troubles and try to help each other. They like to bring in goodies for us to share.
Last week on my day off I fell asleep laying out in the sun. Talk about painful! I could not bend my legs the next day without severe pain. I sprayed vinegar on my burn and would just lay on the bed. I had a hard time at work the next day but I made it through. Next time I will take an alarm with me. I am now stocked up on aloe gel. Normally my first time out in the sun I will only be out about a half hour. I fell asleep for 2 hours in prime sun time. My co-workers said this week I need to fall asleep on the other side to even things out.
It's raining again! Rain for most of the week! We had some big thunderstorms yesterday with downpours. But rain is good, certainly don't want another drought like last year.
