First of all, let me explain that my grandaughter Sara is the most loving and tender-hearted grandchild that we have.
Her boyfriend dumped her two weeks ago and she has spent two weeks crying and mourning. Now he is calling her back and sobbing and telling her he made a big mistake. We would all prefer that the relationship cease because of his family situation.
We are involved because she talks to us and we try to say the right thing. All the grandchildren adore Ted and he talked to her a long time last night.
She has gotten so involved with Curtis and his family. He has two brothers who are bi-polar, his mother is a basket case and can't hold a job, his sister and her husband live with them and Curtis tries to support all of them and he is only 21. It is not rocket science to know that he and his family would be a terrible burden. His father left them for a younger prettier woman several years ago.
I don't believe that there is just one person in the whole world who is your own true love. Convincing our Sara of that seems fruitless.
On a happier note,we had a great time yesterday. Ellie and I went to an estate sale and when we got back, Ted and I went out to eat. Then Ellie and the kids came over and we went for a walk in this wonderfully cool weather.
Some men had a big produce truck that had peaches, Okra, watermelon and tomatoes that was parked on the corner. The peaches were delicious and we haven't tried the other stuff.
I am going to make a beer batter for the Okra. That is Ted's favorite way. My favorite is boiled with black eyed
peas and always a big slice of tomatoes.
