Our lives got a jolt this morning when my neighbor called and told me there was a silver car upside down in the creek,
crick to you Yankees. She thought it might be Celeste and Red so Ted and I hopped in the car and went to see if anyone was in it. It was a silver Ford Tarus so we were relieved that it wasn't Celeste and Red's car. It was so mangled that it looked as though if you had been inside it, it would be fatal. We called the Sheriff and in minutes there were two ambulances, two fire rescue vehicles and a Highway Patrolman.
Fortunately they were able to ascertain that the driver had gotten out and walked up the creek bank. I can't help but believe he was badly hurt. He had not reported the accident
and was probably in shock.
We will probably read about it in the paper. We were so relieved that there was no one inside that tortured heap
of metal.
