A Tax Break for Pet Owners

According to Sunday's Daily Oklahoman, Rep. Thaddeus
McCotter a Republican from Michigan has introduced a bill that would help pet owners with food and Vet bills by making
them deductable up to three thousand five hundred dollars
a year.

When a cat's tooth extraction costs eight hundred dollars, it
could help us all a lot. The bill is called HAPPY and the long version is The Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the
Years.

During these sad economic times, it would help pet owners
take better care of their animals. The article stated that
many people just let the animals go to fend for themselves,
That increases the burden on shelters and is a very cruel
way to treat a loving pet.

It makes me sick to see abandoned animals who are trying
to survive on roadside garbage and whatever they can catch.
Cats are much better at survival than dogs. I used to carry
dry dog food in the trunk of the car but one feeding solves
nothing.

Let's all take the time to get behind Happy and write our
Congressman.
