I do not think that I am easily embarassed or unduly self concious but I have to admit that the pink t shirt got to me. It started out red, but in the wash turned to a vibrant shocking pink.
Ted did not give it up but seemed to get even more attached to it as it changed color. I did not mind him wearing it to the post office but I did shrink from him when he went other places in it. He is a big, broadshouldered man and it
just accentuated the terrible pink of the T shirt. I endured it for a number of weeks when people commented on the fashion statement he was making. He just responded by saying, "It would be a good look for you too."
I decided to take aggressive action. T shirts make excellent mop rags. I cut it into many pieces, (as I said, Ted is a big man). It can never, ever, be retrieved.
He never once asked about it or missed it until he saw Rex with a piece I had knotted up for a chew toy. I had to confess.
