Roses in December

They aren't as pretty but ah the bravery of the rose that continues to bloom right through the cold. There are still geraniums on the back porch in full and glorious bloom. This crazy, crazy weather keeps giving us warm days, It is terribly dry here though and we need a rain because the fire danger is high. I have been working on Christmas but I am pretty well out of ideas and I have missed a few shopping trips. I hate having to order every single thing as well. There have been few social occasions but I am invited to the investment club luncheon on Saturday although I resigned earlier this year. I am looking forward to it. I would feel better if I knew where to send some new clothing to the survivors of the storms across the midwest. Those people will not have a thing but the clothes they were wearing when it hit and probably no shoes as well. I wish I could wave a magic wand and put together all the broken people who think killing and mass murder and hate make America great. It is so necessary for all our weapons be restricted and I don't think it will happen here or in Texas. I have heard two many guys say they will have to pry my gun out of my cold dead hand. I have been off facebook for awhile after letting Alex improve my technology. The moral to that story is to never let a teen mess with your devices. Unless she is a genius like Adrienne.

I'm not too far south of Johhnn so I had shrubs and grass suddenly growing again too. Just like last year, when roses bloomed in November. That is a great thought, to get clothes for storm victims. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

I have day lilies and ground cover growing that should be taking a long nap. No snow on the ground either. 62 degrees today. Winter can't suck too badly if it doesn't start.

Your weather surprises me but I guess we are all in awe of mother nature and deplore her actions. The 200 mile swath she cut through Kentucky, was really terrible.

What a beautiful way to look at the rose. I love it.
Both of my parents have had health issues this year and it is so scary to think of a future without them. It made me think of you and your giant loss of Bobby- giant hugs sent your way!
I’m glad you are able to work on Christmas.

I am past being overwhelmed and actually got a little bit organized yesterday. I am so sorry your parents are not doing well. Be there for them when they need you. I don't get to see my daughter because she is guarding her immuno supressed child but we talk nearly every day and that is such a blessing to me.
