Women of my generation fell prey to Hollywood and the great movies of the 40's and 50's. The beautiful people, the gorgeous cars, and the romantic games were our idea of how
people should behave. I have been bowled over anew watching Turner Classic Movies.
Lana Turner and Fernando Lamas in The Merry Widow just
sent me into ecstasy. Lana Turner had ab out a l6 inch waist and he threw roses at her and seranaded her. I ask you, do men act like that in real life? None have ever crossed my path.
The art deco furniture was beautiful and that is not my favorite style. When they were frisking around in Europe, the rococoo furniture was right up my alley. Even though I have never had a case of mistaken identity, there are tons of plots that employ mistaken identity as a tool to move the the story along in these movies.
Reality, who needs it?
