Friday, my daughter made me promise that I would google
the health department and find out where the shots were
being given for HINI flu. I did and found that there was a clinic yesterday.
Ted and I went yesterday and at the risk of violating political correctness I am going to tell you about the composition of the two block line.
It consisted mainly of young Hispanic families who had lots of children in tow. They conversed mostly in Spanish. I
did not see more than four African Americans. There were
no morbidly obese or handicapped people in line. We were
in line for two hours.
My Dr. is not getting the vaccine and Ted hasn't heard any thing from the V.A. I am relieved to have gotten it over
with and the line was a small price to pay. It was a raw
damp day and pretty uncomfortable but it was worth it.
We are still puzzled as to why there were not more white or
black people in the group. The Native Americans have
their own clinics. There is a special one for people over
64 on Tuesday but as a rule senior citizens are careful about
their health and we figured that line would be even longer.
I made a New York cheese cake yesterday and am making
candy still. As of now, I have lost ten pounds and cottage
cheese has been the mainstay of my diet. Hopefully, I will
be back into my good clothes by cruise time. I dare not eat
bread or potatoes or anything fried.
Have a donut and think of me.
