I have read until my eyes have given out. I read "The Blind Assassin" by Margaret Atwood for the second time and "The Glass of Time" by Michael Cox. Margaret Atwood never disappoints me and I sometimes read her books 3 or 4 times.
"The Glass of Time" is set in the Victorian era and it is a Gothic novel of epic proportions. There are many twists and turns in the story and you are able to guess only a few of them. The heroine is a crafty little miss who has been cheated of her inheritance which of course sounds familiar but the events keep one glued to the page. I found myself wondering how a man was able to create such a living, breathing woman.
I did make a pecan pie Sunday but I could hardly put my book down. Thank goodness I finished it last night after Ted had gone to sleep.
This is Spring Break and I am looking for some excuse to go to Oklahoma City and see the grandchildren. Adrienne informed me over the phone as to what she wants for her Birthday which is April l5. Her birthday is unforgettable since it is the tax deadline.
It is summer again after a few days of chilly rain and cold.
I put out the hydrangea and I will just cover it up if it gets below freezing again. It is so dry here and the fire danger is high. The moisture that we usually get from the Gulf is being sucked up by Texas which is also unusually dry. Our ponds are dry and I am afraid we are going to see
Hay go sky high and this bodes ill for cows and horses. I hope not because the wild life suffers too.
