I have been targeted with pleas from so many organizations for donations that I could not begin to name them all. I know that these organizations either share their lists or sell them to other charities.
I believe in giving and I regularly donate to two animal shelters and the City Rescue Mission. The mission takes in homeless families and helps them get on their feet and feeds and shelters them.
What I resent is those places who play on guilt by sending
address labels, memo pads and even tee shirts. This time of year the pleas get more intense. Last night, the Humane Society televised the most pitiful and graphic pictures of
abused animals that I have ever seen. I hope they get the nineteen dollars a month that they were asking for but I am wiring money to Ellie's parents in Russia instead. Their need is especially great since her mother had a stroke.
I am grateful that we are able to give to those in need but I hate getting at least three begging letters every day. Enough is enough.
