Ted and I didn't have the farm up for sale and lo and behold , a couple appeared out of the blue and inspected the daylights out of everything and we signed the contract yesterday and will close on the 8th. No realtor and no commission so we got pretty close to what we wanted.

They are so nice. We have mutual friends and they will give us some time to move after closing. WWe looked yesterday and made an offer on a house. They countered and we are being coy and trying to find something we like better. It has acres of white carpeting and we are not white carpet people. It has harvest gold appliances and flocked gold wallpaper in the entry...very seventies. The bedrooms are larger and the draperies are beautiful. We really are stressed out but I already have 2 sets of dishes packed and must pack every day from now on. I am tired already. One thing I really liked about it is the closed and private courtyard in front. It is just begging for a fountain.

We dread the moving process horribly and I am sure you can all sympathize with us. We are going to look tomorrow at a big house not even a block from the kids. I will keep you posted.
