Put Me in Charge of the Government

Written by a 21 year old female. Wow, this girl has a great plan! Love the last thing she would do the best.

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It's her future she's worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big government state that she's being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.

This was in the Waco tribune herald, Waco , TX, Nov 18, 2011

Put me in charge . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of lone star cards; no cash for ding dongs or ho ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."

Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

And while you are on gov't subsistence, you no longer can vote! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a gov't welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Now, if only the spineless politicians had the guts!

Comments:

A long time ago, there was an earnest plea from a "FAMILY with Lymes Disease." Most of the material contained in the family's blog appealing for help is contained in the "Put me in charge" e-mails. As the multitude of comments about this e-mail attest, this 21 year old female either "has a great plan!" or has been bashed around for that plan and it's solutions. This lady's opinion ONLY agrees with a newspaper article in the Waco Tribune-Herald.

The author of this opinion letter, not a real plan with real solutions, has already identified himself as Alfred W. Evans in his letter to the Waco Tribune-Herald and is also posted in this discussion. He also wrote to TheVeteransVoice.com and SILENCEDOGOOD2010'S BLOG, which was reposted on BlackShards, and thanked them for posting his letter. "I googled “Put me in charge” and found it on many sites. Thanks again for getting what I consider common sense out to the people." This 21 year old female is receiving credit for your plan and your solution, Mr. Evans. Most of the heat and derogatory remarks are directed toward her and not to you, Mr. Evans. Do you care that this is happening? Why do you allow this to continue on this way? Better her than you? Some military operations use intelligence and deception to accomplish their mission. Food for thought. More on this further down below.

I have another caveat with this supposedly absolutely ingenious clever female, 21. If you are poor, you deserve absolutely no luxuries. Want a pizza, get a job. Really? She's defining even minor luxuries as too much? Removing the will to live is not the presence of negatives, but the absence of positives. I'd love for her to fall on her a.. and need public assistance. I am secularly praying for her to experience the other side.

The system is flawed -- some of these suggestions are good, some are too draconian. Voting rights should NEVER be denied and I would include felons in that. We all deserve the chance to participate in our government no matter what our pasts.

I could go for it, but with a tighter definition of "welfare." Some Republicans believe Social Security and Medicare are 'welfare,' and they are not. Good post, Eddie.
comment by jondude on May 20, 2012 4:31 PM ()
Perhaps some people do...I am not one of them. Social Security and Medicare are totally different beasts and should be propped up.
reply by eddie on May 20, 2012 7:58 PM ()
Trout Eddie is talking about ALL of them not just the ones abusing the system--and how do you decide that? Obviously the government doesn't do a good job--look at all the scams on medicaid and yet they are cutting back on government workers investigating instead of hiring more to save BILLIONS--that's why I don't want Eddie or the so called 21 year old (this has been on the Internet since before George Bush days so she is OLD--wonder if she gets food stamps???) who 'wrote' this--they are cutting back on the wrong thing.
I haven't heard Eddie say anything about cutting back on politicians salaries, benefits, medical care, pensions, etc. while the police, firemen, teachers get all kinds of cutbacks.
comment by greatmartin on May 20, 2012 3:50 PM ()
I am not sure who should make the cutback decisions...but I would not want career politicians doing it. As far as the politicians salaries, benefits, medical care, pensions, etc. I would slash their salaries and benefits massively. Police, firemen, and teachers teachers should get raises, but as long as politics and unions are involved, the only ones that will make out will be themselves.

sorry, should have explained.Yes,it was ss disability.
comment by fredo on May 20, 2012 3:47 PM ()
It has merit; however, I doubt the Republicans would go for the birth control or sterilization. They'd scream it was the same as abortions.
comment by redimpala on May 20, 2012 3:11 PM ()
I don't ofter say this...but I have to agree with you on that one!
reply by eddie on May 20, 2012 3:24 PM ()
If tho there is some merit to some of the suppositions, I'm not buying the "we" and implied, "they" crap. That is not how a free society functions.
comment by jjoohhnn on May 20, 2012 1:24 PM ()
I agreed with this.We have a neighbor next door in his early fifties and collection social security checks. Why,not sure. But he is out there working around the house doing lumber work etc.
I do not see anything physical with him.Unless he is in a mental stage. We are wasting a lot of money on t here so called people who cannot work.Fine?then let them do community work of sort and the food stamp is a joke. When we were on welfare in the thirties we were lucky to get some canned good etc.No credit or debit card that they have today. They are spoiled.
Having to many babies etc.Something has to be done and fast. They abused the system.
Good post there and need to wake up these people.

Just to be clear...I am not talking about Social Security. If a person has paid in, then there is an expectation to be paid back. If you are talking about Social Security Disability...that is greatly misused.
reply by eddie on May 20, 2012 1:59 PM ()
Hmmm. I must say I agree with this, which surprises me. I was 100% ready to say "NO WAY EDDIE!"
comment by kristilyn3 on May 20, 2012 1:02 PM ()
I agree.
comment by troutbend on May 20, 2012 12:58 PM ()
Eddie, I love you but I don't want you (or her) in charge of the government-- I have earned the money I am getting now so why should I not be able to vote?

In the 70s I paid enough taxes that I would have to live another 10 years to even get even.

And at what age will the person be when you start all this??

And by the way what if the 90 year old can' get a job because of his age? What do you plan to do with him?

Like politicians she (and you) didn't think it all through
comment by greatmartin on May 20, 2012 12:58 PM ()
Correct, I am not talking about Social Security. If a person has paid in, then there is an expectation to be paid back. If you are talking about Social Security Disability...that is greatly misused.

I don't think it's about social security, Martin, it's about all those 30, 40, 50 year olds who are 'disabled' due to learning disorders and alleged PTSD.
