The Pastel I Didn't Throw Out ...

This is about the only thing I have done in weeks. Simple, and yet it took me two nights to get this much done.

I want to picky-back just a little on Jeri's post. I have been so put off by both the media and the Right wing. Ted Kennedy was no saint, but he was powerful and often referred to as The Lion of Congress even by his enemies. GW once remarked that it was great when Ted was on his side. The blatant lies and deliberate distortions are intended not to inform Americans but to deliberately mislead them. It is not about what is good for the country or for the people. It is all about a blatant grab at power- at any cost- to the American people.

A prime example is the so-called 'Death Panel'. The truth here is so distorted that it is a perversion. This is what Palin called the counseling I and thousands of other Veterans are required to receive- at no expense to ourselves- when we want to prepare a Living Will through the VA. (Keep in mind that these are the same politicians that wanted to legislate Terry Schiavo's end of life decision.) It is the Rush Limbaugh mentality that the only way the Republican Party will prevail is to prevent Obama from succeeding so that they can reclaim the White House.

When I hear the blatant lies and distortions it makes me feel ashamed. This is our best? This is the shining example of democracy that we are holding up for the world to follow? The end justifies the means no matter how many good reputations and great ideas are slaughtered? Shame on all of them!
