Painting is Tough

I got the "realism" part done and am working on the more expressive parts. It is difficult because I am painting it over the 'real' part- and what if I screw up? The whole thing will be ruined! Yesterday was cool enough to paint on the porch during the day. It is cloudy and it should rain later on, but right now, it is hot and muggy even on the porch.

Several states are considering the passage of what they are calling "Caylee's Law" making it a felony to fail to report a child under 12 missing for over 12-24 hours. People are appalled that Casey got off for lack of evidence, and the lack of evidence is a result of not reporting her missing for 31 days. I think Florida Child Protective Services ought to nail her for failing to report her child missing. If that is not parental neglect or failing to protect, then nothing is!

Pretty soon there will be a law for every conceivable bad decision involving children. Too bad that we need to legislate common sense and morality.

A woman in Las Vegas was recently sentenced to prison for several years because her toddler opened the sliding door and drowned in the pool - and the mother called 911 in hopes they could revive him. Assuming that is what happened at the Anthony house (without the 911), I wonder how if there would have been repercussions for parental neglect in the state of Florida. That verdict rewarded Casey for doing the wrong thing, and I wonder how many numb nuts fools are going to try the same thing when their kids die because they are too busy playing a game on Facebook or something to watch them.

It is sad that laws like this are necessary.

I agree totally and hope the law passes. I look at pictures of little
caylee and am heartsick.
