Where does my inspiration for a painting come from? The one above I posted on the other site over a year ago. I was thinking about the nun who 'saved' me. She is now old and suffering from Alzheimer. Her world was stripped from her, including the habit that she loved when her order 'modernized' and assumed street clothing. As her world crumbled around her, I painted this to symbolize her loses.
I am inspired by newspaper headlines, current events, phrases that conjure images in the mind, ordinary, every day events that I find humorous, my own experiences and the people whom I love. Inspiration comes from so many sources. Because most of them involve people, that is maybe why I cannot stick to painting beautiful scenery.
I hope that I finish it before I leave for New York next week, but one of Jeri's posts was the inspiration for the canvas that sits on my easel right now.
