How much it has grown from yesterday to today is really scary! These images are from May 4th to May 11th. In the first image I marked the location of the Deepwater Horizon rig with a white x. In the second image, the red x marks the spot.





This is an environmental disaster unlike anything we have ever seen, and it will only get worse until we first find a way to staunch the flow.

I am so proud of the USCG. They are calling in cutters from all over the country to assist with containing the oil. They were the first in Haiti and made hundreds of flights to provide assistance. They are still attempting to aid the Haitians, and now they are also charged with controlling and fixing this disaster. Did you know Congress cut their funding drastically this year? Guess that is about to be reversed....

This disaster has also impacted the Florida tourism industry- already! People think the oil leak has already damaged our shorelines. Not yet.... From the looks of things, it is just a matter of time.
