Problems Lately

Darn it! I get a new used computer and everything seemed so much faster and better and, now, things seem to be going so slow that I'm ready to pull out my hair! Good thing I have a thick crop of hair on my head! LOL

I lost internet connection for some reason two mornings ago. It was hours before service was restored. I still don't know what caused the problem, but both Edie and I (and who knows how many others) were "inconvenienced" during that time.

Service was finally restored at or about noon time, but it has been so slow and sluggish that it has been downright frustrating! Things used to be bad on my old computer, all the time on certain sites (like mybloggers), but things have been like that on all sites since the connection has been restored.

At one point yesterday, things looked like they were improving. Nothing was fast, but things just weren't so slow. But, by the time last night rolled around, from about 6:00 on, things were so bad that it was almost useless to try to get anything done on the computer, whether it be in the form of writing, reading, playing games, or anything. It took over 10 minutes to open an email that took less than a minute to read! Hey, some emails did open in two minutes time, but some might have taken 5 minutes to close! Blogging was completely out of the question, so I did read some...but it would take about 5 minutes for any post to open up and another few minutes to close. (It didn't matter which blogging site, it was all the same.)

Things do appear to be better so far this morning and I have my fingers crossed that things stay this way. I think things are still slower than they were before the disruption of service, but I could live with this speed without a problem. And, obviously, the ability to access sites, do some writing and/or reading, and moving on to other things has improved or I wouldn't be here posting this right now! So, things are looking up!

The weather I found plays a big part in connections, especially when we had dial up, this week we just got cable high speed...WOW it's pleasure to blog!
Time to use computer I also found was better in early AM as to pages loading. Not any more!
Also it could be where your ISP is located? And the weather, so be patient, it might be about Mother Nature...

The other day my server went down so I called them. It turned out that there was a problem with the connection capabilities for several in my area. Maybe if you called your server they can run a test on your line to make sure it's not them. I hope it gets faster for you.

We have broadband but have experienced so many problems. Hubby just spent another $100 for a stronger receiver, and I am happy to say that things are much better. I think the providers decided that my trees were blocking the view. Oh well, now the signal is picked up through the branches with our powerful $100 more receiver!
