I use standard. It has nothing to do with mybloggers...the posting part...it has to do with my computer. This old dinosaur with it's very limited "what's left" of a memory can not handle some things and sites as good as some other things and sites...it can't handle some at all. Unfortunately, mybloggers is one of them when it comes to posting. The longer the post is and/or the more graphics used, the more bogged down my computer gets...sometimes freezing altogether and I, therefore, lose everything I was working on if unfinished and not actually posted/saved. With another computer, things would probably be fine.
I love his work! His paintings are absolutely awesome! I never saw some of the ones you posted here, so this was especially nice and enjoyable. I can see why you, too, love his work and admire him as an artist so much. It's strange...no, not so strange, but I could sense that you are the kind of person who would have a special interest and fondness for all of this sort of artwork...just as I can sense that this sort of artwork is right and fitting for you.
Wow, those are scary.
I can understand and respect your loyalty. Here in America, although we would understandably not have the same loyalty or affection, we have always had an interest in your Royalty and a lot has been admired.
I think I've got to go change my shorts! That was scary! I still don't see why he had to do something so dumb when the rock he stood on wasn't the only "just as good" option available to him! Even photographers who will do just about anything for a good shot shook their heads at this one!
Gee, you're really going at it, aren't you? I haven't been getting rid of things, but I have been gathering and storing things so as to eliminate some clutter in the apartment. Today, I came across a number of posters that just can not be thrown or given away (that we intend to hang sometime soon) that had become separated from each other and laid in different closets. I grouped them together, tied them in a clear plastic bag to protect them from dust and air moisture changes, and stored them in the basement. Let's see what I'll find tomorrow!
What a great place for a conference! Ahhh, Newport, and just when the weather is supposed to start breaking and hit us with a bit of summer! Oh, I just might be jealous! Have fun in Newport and enjoy the conference!
I saw this in the local bookstore's window and was wondering if it was any good. I have to admit that I was a fan of Linc's father, not just in a political way, I admired John Chafee, the man. You must remember that I lived through more of John Chafee's years than you...when he was governor, then not, then again...then in national politics (senator) and as Secretary of the Navy. But, I met him, heard him talk in casual environments on other subjects and issues, and Rhode Islanders were able to get to know him as a person. I don't dislike Lincoln, but I just have not seen the same impact, the same "guy from the neighborhood" likeness yet, not even in his own way. But, it might be because his years of experience and performance are still little compared to his father. I'd be interested in reading this if it is well written and doesn't sound like an "I said, but" kind of book.
I guess people who don't use public transportation or can get by without it don't really care but, for those who rely on the transportation a strike can be crippling. Drivers do deal with a lot of situations and they are providing a service so desperately needed by some people and a better alternative for transportation for others, so drivers should be compensated accordingly. Not knowing what they are being paid now or how much 4% actually represents, I can not offer an opinion on the fairness or unfairness of either side, though. And, too, how does a bus driver's pay compare to other jobs that are considered to be of similar type or level?
Isn't he at least willing to pay for your gas? I know it still doesn't save you from all that driving, the wear and tear on the car, and the inconvenience...but, gee!...at least he would be/could be offering some help in the situation? Just putting you on a guilt trip and dropping the ball in on you isn't very fair, so I really don't blame you for the way you are feeling and venting.
It's ok to withdraw once in awhile...sometimes we need to sort things out ourselves or just need "alone with me" times. We, including you, just can't forget to snap out of it without letting it go on too long or along unhealthy tracks.
Gee, if your ex would just show some signs of trying to make things easier, some effort to help in some way...oh, well, some say they just don't see it the way we do. I know, it sounds like an excuse, but some will claim that there is proof. I don't care, really, if they think the same as us or not, the important thing is that they do what is expected from a so-called mature adult.
I used to shop like that when I was able to...bulk buy where things would last the month or more, picking up the fresh produce and dairy things as needed throughout the month. It also means the "bigger, heavier, more time consuming" kind of shopping only has to happen once a month instead of every week.
you're feeling better!
Martin, I think elfie suggested a free photo site on one of your earlier posts when you mentioned re-sizing difficulties.
If you do get to see Mamma Mia I'll think you're one lucky dog. It's played here in Providence on at least a half a dozen or so "limited engagement" occasions over a number of seasons now and I still haven't seen it.
Gee, I'm not sure I would be interested in paying the price to see this at the movies after reading your review, but I would have considered renting the movie on DVD. But, if you say it should be fast-forwarded during parents scenes even when the movie/story hasn't even been seen before, then it might not even be worth paying the price of a rental. Not when I can get a full-length movie for the same price! Maybe I'll just check for the good scenes on YouTube...that's free. (Oh, you know me, if I was looking for a rental and I saw this, I'd probably still go ahead and rent it and then watch it all the way through.)
