As with all heart procedures and circulation considerations, they do their best to get patients up and moving as quickly as possible...so don't think anybody is just going to let you laze around. I'm wishing you all the best, Martin.

I believe there were at least three companies when cable first came to RI and each had their own area. (I forget who was in northern RI, the headquarters were in North Smithfield or Woonsocket, on Rte. 146, I believe.) Full Channel was the company in the Bristol County, RI area. They never went out of business, even as Cox expanded. Because of Full Channel's existence, they remained the sole provider in the area until a few years back when Cox was granted permission to enter this territory. Since then, there have been the two companies to choose from. Full Channel was already hooked up and running when we moved here, so it is the company we have. And, like I said, for reasons not to be discussed, we have stayed with Full Channel and will continue to do so.

I really, really enjoyed this post! I could feel the enthusiasm all the way through and I loved the touch of humor in the evidence of pride. Go Oranje is all I can think of because it's like I've been motivated at a pep rally!

I know that we are friends and I am happy we are. It is too bad that some people have been disappointed by efriends, but there is dishonesty in some people whether online or in real life. Sometimes, though, being online allows someone to show their true personality and dreams, although they may not be enjoying those things in real life, so they may be disappointing to those who know (or meet) them in real life. Pretending or lying are not good, no matter the reason, but if the friendship is based on the true spirit of the heart and soul, then it can be unfair to be unrealistic in judging people who appear to be a little different in the offline world.

Anonymity is a major factor, I'm sure, but it's also the timing or the curcumstances, I think, that factor in. There may be some RL friends who know all about you and conversations can or could have gotten quite personal and honest...but, with RL, most come with families, work, school, and other elements that you know just as well first-hand as you know the friends. On line, you've never shared the actual school, job, families, etc. Although these things may have been mentioned, discussed, or written extensively about, it's still like one-on-one with an online friend, without the actual presence of any of those things. It, therefore, almost always feels more personal and private. Even in a group-type forum, it's still has a closed group feeling. Talk about those other things, but those things are not there at the meeting or during the conversation/email. Visit a friend and the kids are around, the time of day must be considered, etc. Take a lunch break with a friend, but it's to get out of the same office where your relationship includes all that the job (or place) is about. So, I think it's the "personal" touch, too.

Way to go, Kelli! I'm all for a 2-lb. loss! Let's see, 2 lbs. a week times 52 weeks....hey! It might not even take you that long to reach your goal!

I think a part of the reason why you are as close as you all are and why you all get along well is because you do invest time, you do allow them to be themselves but instill good values and behavior in them, you give them your good and fun qualities without sacrificing your position as their mom, you believe in them, you listen, and you are supportive and fair with your guidance and expectations. On top of it all, you offer unconditional love.

For those who insist on interpreting their Bible literally, then "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" may be practiced in some areas but is far from total acceptance in this country. Thank goodness for that because the "believers" would be disfiguring their children as well! I am not going to debate whether or not spanking is a good thing or bad thing, but to say that the Bible says it's ok or that it is God's will is NOT a reason or an excuse!

Way to go, Kelli! The effort is half the battle, the exercising is the other half. The results of it all? They come about because of the effort and exercise...weight loss and a healthier, happier person.

I, too, have a battle with weight going on, have been on and off the mark with the diet and have been hit or miss with the exercise, so I'm not putting in enough effort or exercise to get the results I'm looking for. I personally hate walking a track, although I have done it. Set me on a walking path or trail and there's no stopping me. But, if you like a track, then that's what you should do because you'll have a better chance of success if you enjoy what you're doing.

I loved the way Patti LuPone owned the stage and spoke to her very last word inspite of the swelling music trying to silence her to be ushered off. Did you notice that no one forced her to leave until she had finished?

Hmmmm, so are those "anti-boy antibiotics" going to be dubbed "antiboyotics" any day soon? Well, I don't get much out of this post, me being a lesbian and all, because they say having an older brother doesn't seem to be a "key" for lesbians (I don't have an older brother) and I certainly don't have a penis to measure for comparison purposes! Maybe I'm a lesbian because I had a second son, gay second cousin who had a certain balding pattern, I have a female third cousin who used to be my male third cousin who looks better than I do, and I have a happily married, soon-to-be-a-mom bisexual cousin who has a great sense of humor but can be sensitive about her weight? Gee, I dunno!
