You may not be familiar with Mark Burnett because he is British. Whether a fan of reality TV or not, that type of programming has made a name for itself on American television and Mark Burnett is the person most credited for creating the concept of reality tv. His name appears in the credits of many such shows.

I'm not as familiar with Doug Morris, but I believe he's an executive or producer or something like that with Universal.

I won't go so far as to agree with you about Stamos' talent...because he's certainly has more than I have...but I do agree with the fact that there have to be others more deserving. The two men I just mentioned, although maybe not as recognizable, have done more to deserve the honor.

I loved checking out the Walk of Fame. I think it's sometimes getting tough to come up people to add to it because so many with notable names and talents have already been honored. My only thought as to why fredo was passed on...you see, he wasn't overlooked at all, he was just put "on hold" because much of the Walk of Fame is in such disrepair that a lot of work must be done to keep it from remaining an embarrassment. In it's present condition, it's not worthy of having fredo's name on it.

Yes, I must get my hands on some DVD's and check her out. I can't believe that I have never been that familiar with her...yet, I can see from your pics how lovely she is, and I can read from your posts how much her talent is appreciated.

This, of course, is very belated, but will you please extend my birthday wishes to Allen? He is such a good friend to you, so he must be one hell of a guy! And, you can tell him I said that.

It is so important to embrace the elder-gay community...and, so many of them really do want to embrace us younger folks. They want to share their stories and hear/celebrate all the things we enjoy that they fought for. They also want to be encouraging in the fight that lies ahead and share the experiences they are living through now.

Equal rights means more than marital rights. Although the rights to marriage need to be fought for, it's equal rights that will cover marriage and all other issues where rights are now being denied or compromised. If things don't change soon, Edie and I are facing possible forced separation if we need to go into elderly/senior citizen housing because some do not allow "strangers" to co-habitate. The only way we could live together in the same place is if we each get our own apartment. That's just one example if inequality, plus the fact that we are still forbidden to marry in this state...yet, I'm no less a citizen, no less an American than anybody living in California. Even that alone is an insult...it's discrimination on top of discrimination.

Yes, I certainly have seen her in a couple of things, but I must confess that I am not all that familiar with Charisse or her work. I'm sorry to say that I am more familiar with her name than anything else about her. So, your post was very much appreciated by me...and maybe I should invest in a few DVD rentals?

I understand what Clovis is trying to say...Murphy is also a victim. But, this particular victim has also become a violator himself. That's very different than HIS victim and others he made into victims. His being a victim is not his fault...because of situations, instead of being spared from the suffering he endured or being helped as he should have, he was traumatized, too, while others are the ones at fault and deserve the blame. But, because of those people and the result of his personal sufferings, he became guilty of crimes, too. Besides being on the list of victims, he has added himself to the list of criminals, therefore is also deserving of blame and punishment. So, he must pay for his crime(s). (This IS a case of justice being served, for any lighter sentence...or dismissal...would have been the same traumatic injustice slap in the face for his victims, who could then claim to be justified if they lashed out or acted upon others?) All of this crap is a result of a continuous flow of abuse, discrimination, hatred, guilt trips, trauma, threats, etc....from one to another to another...and how else is it going to stop? It has to be stopped dead in its tracks, the chain has to be broken somewhere...and Murphy happens to be one of the links that can now break one of the chains. Maybe we can't change the past, but there's a judge who is willing to do something about it now!

Well, I think the Lincoln Center should be included among others being considered. I realize the difference, but it's almost like when they started including HBO and some other cable/subscription networks in the Emmy considerations. I was thrilled to see South Pacific win so much...I was already a fan just from the few scenes I had caught here and there on TV. I never wanted to favor it because of my feelings for the older South Pacific I remember and fell in love with, but I've seen enough of the new one to convince me that it is a hit and worthy of awards.

Very elegant "upper crust" sounding menu. I might want to sample a couple of those things (probably not many), but I know exactly what my taste buds would be waiting for...the dessert selection!

I miss a good deli...even the best ones that used to be in Providence have given way to other things. There's still a few, but not like before. Oh, great! Now you've got me in the mood for a deli sandwich...maybe one of those giant dill pickles or some garlic pickles on the side.

Well, I liked seeing/hearing In the Heights and I thought the music was quite appropriate for that show...just as jazz was/is for some, rock is/was for some, etc.

I agree with you about the tribute to Rent, though...it was not well done at all. It was "frazzled and dis-jointed", such a disappointment.

You know, this does sound like a good book for dog-loving gay men. I'm sure it's helpful and it sounds like it's quite enjoyable.

Although I'm sure I'd enjoy the food (which, I believe, should be the most important thing), I'd enjoy the thrill of being there, seeing it, and the view!
