Ok, even if on a diet, I can still go to McDonald's for a salad and diet soda. Then, when I have to indulge, I can have a sandwich...and maybe a shake!

Maybe we won't have a president that will do exactly all that we want done, but I sure as hell am going to vote for the one that won't be the most against us. I don't think it's too much to ask of a president to push for equal rights in ALL matters of ALL American citizens, so I am disappointed by the fact that this still may not happen, especially seeing that it doesn't really change anything as far as the country as a whole goes and it won't effect anybody except those gay people who want to marry. Everthing else and everybody else can just go about their business and maybe some of those real issues that really concern the country's safety and welfare, such as the war, the economy, jobs, etc. can be addressed. What the F..K...why is so much time and energy being wasted on a simple situation with a simple answer because there is real work that needs to be done!

I'm generally not happy when anybody dies, but I certainly am happy when everything about such a person dies with him. There's a huge difference between having one's own beliefs and using those beliefs as a means to promote hatred, injury, and all forms of evil. What was really sick was that he made those that practiced the latter feel they were justified because it was like he was giving them permission...that Americans have rights to kill, torture, terrorize, discriminate, rape, abuse, and more and here was a good excuse to do so.

It's as if each state is it's own country and this is certainly something that concerns ALL the people of this country, not just the ones in one or some states. Doesn't anyone remember when certain states allowed slavery and others didn't? Oh, woe is me if that sort of separation of rights is going to take place, as is the way it appears to be happening. This only creates another "classification of people" that will make some even more discriminated against than they already are.

My one word answer deserves to be in capitals...STUPID! (Oh, did I say that our government and military brainiacs are stupid? Yes, in this case, they are STUPID! I guess the guy who stood beside him in Iraq did more for this country...oh, but that doesn't matter...that's not the issue. Well, folks, that is the issue! It's what the person has done, endured, earned, and deserves according to those things. Oh, this is all so STUPID!

Again, more and more politicians are openly displaying their support, many walking side by side with members of the gay community. Some, I know, do not necessarily do anything specifically for the community or quite enough, but they are at least on our side and not afraid to show it. (Now if we can only get those closeted Republicans to make an appearance in places other than in secret hiding places or in restrooms.)

Sounds like a fabulous party! It's good to read favorable news, isn't it? And, it's good to know of places who have taken such a positive position and may set an example for others to follow.

Wow, that puts an oomph in oomph. I noticed that the candidates are asleep at the wheel, going around mumbling this and that but not generating anything exciting, new, or different. There's less coverage of them, except for idiotic reasons, as was pointed out here, and it's pretty rhetorical and disappointing. Part of the whole problem, though, is that people would rather go to the movies or just think about things in a more cinematic way than to pay closer attention to what is really happening and put some real pressure on these candidates, almost threaten to not vote for either one or to cause such an outcry that something will have to be done.

He seems to have a pretty positive attitude about all of this, though, in spite of the hurt and concern. You're a good friend, you really are. Your advice to write things down is an excellent one...that is almost always a huge help.
