She was a tremendous woman...they were a tremendous couple. I was familiar with some of the many things attributed to Martin and I was aware of her magnetic personality and affect on people. Lesbians, whether they are familiar with Martin or not, are indebted to her for making a lot of things possible for us today. Just being free from the assumption of being mentally ill or defective was, and is, a giant accomplishment that makes a hell of a difference in our lives today.

I don't think I'll be seeing this movie...although one of those guys in the picture looks like...hey! Is that you?

Oh, Angie, this was a great post! I will always consider your home to be a sanctuary after reading this...a safe and loving one. What a beautiful story, so well written and such a joy to read. I'm sure you live in a beautiful place but, Angie, it takes the goodness of a good person to really be beautiful. You have made that slice of heaven worth something by making it your home and a home for many of God's creatures.

Hmmmm, still guessing here (because I still haven't seen the answer), but I'm going to stick with my first, initial, and only guess...shoplifting.

Inexcusable, outrageous, insensitive, pretty darn stupid! The guard said the shirt was offensive? His type of behavior is what is offensive!

I suppose this might have been a practice back in the days of line drying, when things were still damp on the line or when they were taken in just short of being dry for crispness, smoothness, and to finish drying. When dryers were invented, people probably still wanted that dried-on-the-line feeling to the bed, so someone must have figured out just how long to put the sheets in the dryer to compare with the wetness/dryness time of being out on the line. I would never iron sheets, anyway...no way! Most of the time, they can be smoothed out nicely on the bed anyway...if too wrinkled for that, I just toss them in the dryer for a bit, sometimes just on "fluff" or "air only" mode, and all comes out good enough. The whole concept is interesting, though...I never would have expected to find such a thing on the internet or anywhere.

There are an awful lot of people like this and it's a shame. It's not fair to the people who are not like this because most, if not all, would be normally be willing to make sacrifices, to meet someone half way, to help out, and to do a lot of things unconditionally, but the mooching selfishness of some people puts such a burden and/or inconvenience on them that they have to say no. It's too bad because now the good, innocent ones are often made to feel guilty and even cheated because of their decision or the situation. Instead of everybody being happy, now there's discomfort where there didn't even have to be any.

This is so funny in a cute sort of way. I love this post.

I have never been into researching and figuring my geneology until very recently and now it seems to be interesting enough to me at this point in time for me to pursue it. I don't know why it suddenly became interesting to me, but I think I'm going to give it a go.

So, now that I have a personal interest, I can say that I think it's very interesting to discover new relatives and their stories, learn of one's ancestors, and get a feel for what their lives were like. The fact that you now have more relatives "out there" must be a little exciting and strange at the same time. It does sound like it's a bit of fun, so I hope the communication between all of you continues.

I'm loving this vacation travel journal. I can't wait to read more! By the way, I love the scenery as you probably guessed I would.

I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the concert. Mayer does one of my favorite songs, so I am very familiar with him and his music. And, you had such a sweet homecoming after the concert...I think that is so nice.

My brother was telling me about a power outage in his area of Ohio, storm related of course. That took place around the same time your broadband service was out. Whoa, I don't envy that ride with the loose cat! That must have been so nerve-wracking, thank goodness you managed to stay on the road! Cats do not usually make the best passengers.

I like Greek food for the most part, so I'm sure I would have enjoyed dining at the restaurant. The open kitchen sounds great. I have always admired them in the homes I've seen them in. I've always said that a large enough kitchen is always nice to have but, big or small, an open kitchen makes a nicer atmosphere. The poor cook is so often kept separated from guests or family when a kitchen is a closed, separate area.
