Busy Busy Busy

Lot happened last days, busy at home and busy at school. As some of you know I also do a volunteer-job at the local soccer club ( 2 of my sons play soccer there). Because the new season is starting its quite some administration. A lot of new members who subscribed so a lot to do with bills and so. My wife complains regularly I always sit behind the pc.
Well anyway, I like doing the administration so I don't complain.
At school its always quite busy in the first weeks. The schedule always has some little faults so there is enough to do. Lot of meetings, which always gives a lot of jobs to do again.
In my time off there also is a lot to do. Gardening (no still not green fingers here), housekeeping ( no, I still don't like that), I even cleaned the outside windows, which was very necessary I must admit.
We also are very busy with the expansion of our house. I earlier wrote about our plans and it will take place end October. There was a lot to figure out and tomorrow we finally get a new mortgage so we also can pay all (not quite unimportant). Last week I received an invoice to pay advance money for the kitchen we bought.
Btw cant wait for that new kitchen it will suit so great. But there still are questions about what to do with the floor in the kitchen. Same as in living room or totally different? The kitchen will be an "open kitchen". I don't know if that is familiar but it means that the kitchen is just a part of the living room. Actually we want paving tiles (hope that's correct English) in the kitchen part and a wooden floor in the rest of the living room. There still will be a lot to arrange, so it will keep us busy.

Complete different subject:
Last week we notice that on Friday night we always have dinner with just the 2 of us. The kids always are gone for some reason (work or for fun). That's why we went out for dinner already 3 weeks on Friday.
For Martin: Last Friday we went out for a Greek dinner.
Entry: several little plates with Tzaziki (Greek specialty), crab/calamari salad, goat cheese wrapped in bacon, mussels in a splendid curry sauce and a Greek salad with Greek cheese (feta). Because it were all little plates it didn't gave you a full stomach. It tasted so great mmmmm
Main dish: A little sole baked in butter, feta wrapped in foam paste, little lamsrack, gyros and a kind of spicy meatball served with Greek potatoes and Greek salad.
In stead of a desert we just had Coffee.

I only can hope the kids wont eat at home next Friday lol.

I like Greek food for the most part, so I'm sure I would have enjoyed dining at the restaurant. The open kitchen sounds great. I have always admired them in the homes I've seen them in. I've always said that a large enough kitchen is always nice to have but, big or small, an open kitchen makes a nicer atmosphere. The poor cook is so often kept separated from guests or family when a kitchen is a closed, separate area.

I like the open design for your new kitchen/living room. Are you thinking of hardwood flooring?

I went to an Isreal restaurant where they also did the lots of small dishes allowing the tasting of many foods--enjoyed it.
I like an open kitchen--seems more 'friendly' and since so much time is spent at home in the kitchen it is a good idea.
Bet your place will be a mess all October!

I love Greek food, but sadly my hubby doesn't so I don't get it as often as I'd like.
