There couldn't have been a nicer place for this event than out in the great outdoors! It's comfortable, pleasing, and I believe it keeps people enthusiastic and energized...where, if indoors in a meeting room, people would get fidgety, bored, and unfocused.

You be sure that jondude knows I've said this, ok? ....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONDUDE!

I love volunteering and I have always appreciated the volunteer work done by people and agencies. How often I have collected for charities, made donations (monetary, clothing, etc.) to charities, walked for charities, helped at the food bank, tutored those with challenges in reading, and helped clean up the community. I did have a paying job for a few years(a really low paying job) working as a home health aide for the United Way, too, so I could make a little bit of a living but be able to help those in need with simple housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and personal care. I find it so very rewarding, but I believe my feeling of reward is a lot less important than the help that others are getting.

Eeks! Way to scary!

This was a very interesting telling of yourself and I enjoyed reading it very much. Your closing line is what really struck me because, like me, you accept the fact that not all people will like everybody, but everyone should strive for peaceful tolerance and acceptance...I call it decency. As far as being remembered kindly for touching someone in one small way, you have already touched many who already remember the special person you are. I'm one of those people who doesn't have to wait to look back and remember because I already know it.

Awww, I hope Minnie Pearl is better and back to being herself again. The poor thing couldn't tell you what was wrong and doesn't understand the pain, so it's so hard to see a pet suffering. I'm glad you caught it in time and the necessary meds were secured. Oh, I really do hope she's better.

Will you please extend my Happy Birthday wishes to jondude? HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JONDUDE! AND HERE'S TO MANY MORE!

The comedian managed to get a joke in with your post! But, I could make it out good enough to read the punch lines and, you've got to admit, he could be quite witty. I should know because it's getting to the point for me when the candles on my cake will probably start costing more than the cake does, so I can certainly see his humor!

Yeah, well I would probably sit in amusement as you tried to get your work done with the cats there. I might not even offer to help because I'd just want to watch. (Of course, I really would offer to help...nah, that's not like me! I'd just get up and get busy doing work, too.)

Wow! You're all those things? No wonder you're so interesting and likable! So, a little flaky and irresponsible? But you like all your ducks in a row because you're so organized. Seems a little contradictory, but if I know you, you can pull it off. Anyway, that's quite a summary you got there.

You should have prepared me better before I read this so I could have put on some Depends! I could feel the pain, but I laughed so hard I couldn't see through the tears! If you could see me now; puffy red eyes, red face, tears on my cheeks, wet tear drops on my shirt, and my somewhat pee-ed pants, you'd think I was the one who tried the waxing!

Pupil? You crack me up!!! Are you sure you weren't under the influence of some of that Piccadilly Punch when you answered these questions?

If all schools participated, it would have been incredible. If many or most schools participated, it would have been great. If some or a few participated, then the impact may have been less but a statement would have still been made. The important thing is that "somebody did something" and didn't just sit back like nothing had ever happened. It wasn't "business as usual", and that alone is encouraging news.
Comment on But How Many Schools Didn't?? - May 1, 2008 10:43 PM ()
I saw this piece of news all over the place! I can see the point, but I think it should just be left to "them" to decide and work it out. It might seem almost silly to some, but I wonder how many men (straight or gay) would want to be called a Lesbian. And, the women there...gee, they have to distinguish themselves as straight Lesbians or lesbian Lesbians. (Seems to me that lesbians and plenty of all women have enough problems without having to deal with that, too.)
