How nice you got a new couch...new things can make such a nice difference in a home. I'm glad you got to the bottom of the story with your daughter, but it's really a shame that the reason was what it is. No one should have to be that scared...how awful! Of course she can't be punished under these circumstances, but you can't help but wish that the whole thing never would have happened in the first place.
For some reason, our postal service in this state is pretty darn good and most things will reach many destinations inside and outside of the state within 2-4 days, with some surprising next-day arrivals. When something is "sensitive", though, I still tend to do a special overnight-type mailing, just to be on the safe side unless I'm mailing weeks in advance. We tend to do all our bill paying online now, as it helps to eliminate those "we did't receive your payment on time" claims and penalties, plus I can print out the payment confirmations right there on the spot. (Any problems, I just call and refer to the printout, fax it over, send a copy, or resend it via email, whichever is needed.)
Yeah, from the sound of your review, it sounds like it's just an ok movie, so it's ok to see it and ok to miss it.
Part of the reason for ignorance is because the laws vary so much that people don't know where and what anything is legal, illegal, pending, etc. It can be confusing to people, especially those without a personal interest.
Another reason, and it borderlines being an excuse, is that the younger generation (high school and college age, for instance) are still much more focused on coming out and/or socializing (their liberating "freedom"), while young adults (ages 25-35) may know some laws but know they will not focus on any because of a chosen inactive role for fear of losing employment or other necessities, while middle-agers start becoming more aware but may not have the scheduling freedom or job security to "get involved" actively, while older individuals may not be physically (or mentally) up to it or have become tired and settled-in with whatever life they have. It's not to say that none have an interest, it's just that many don't take the interest to a higher level.
Even those who can't really be actively yawns (usually for financial reasons) do tend to believe in the way of yawns and would be full-fledged yawns if they could be. (Ha! That does make sense if you read it carefully! ) It's too bad, though, that the term "yawn" sounds like boredom and/or laziness because neither is an appropriate definition.
My answer to the title...HELL, NO!
My comment to the post...
Such a fabulous show. Every episode is worth watching but there are some that stand out more than others, such as the last one.
Ouch, Martin! Any tooth or gum related discomfort is absolute pain for me and I dread dentists more than I've ever dreaded a doctor. I'm glad your mouth is feeling better...now you can enjoy some eating again...and I know how important that is to you! As far as the rest goes, you keep me posted as things go on, ok?
These are hilarious! I am sharing these with some friends of mine!
I missed the dancing, but I might be able to catch Camelot. I remember watching South Pacific done that way on PBS and I loved it. I've also caught pieces of others, too, so I hope to see Camelot.
Oh, that is wonderful! I have nothing but best wishes for them! What a very happy occassion!
That was very interesting, Martin! Great post!
What a tremendous story, not only about this remarkable woman but about the hope that rightful changes can be made! There is no reason or justification for giving up...or people like Mildred Loving would have worked and achieved in vain.
Hey, I know you've pretty much had it with the other site, but wishing the troublemakers stay there is not very fair to us who still use the other site. I believe I know what you meant, but we don't want the troublemakers there, either, just like you never liked them there. I no more wish troublemakers on mybloggers than I wish any (new or existing) over there.
This is not something I know anything about, but now I am counting on you to report back after you've had the massage so I can hear all about it.
